CBRC MOVIE NIGHT

On Monday, 30th October, CBRC is hosting a movie night!

The film “All for One” will be showing at the Pivotonian Theatre, South Geelong, at 6:00pm; tickets just $11.00. (See attached flyer for details)

Booking is through the Trybooking website as shown on the flyer.

Come along and join with your clubmates in a viewing of this enthralling documentary showing the establishment of the Green Edge cycling team!

United by their renegade spirit and a determination to win against substantial odds, these riders take on the international circuit.

The film offers unique insights into the first five years of their journey, bearing witness to the ethos of the team as embodied by all – from the strongest to most embattled members.

Out of a culture that embraces a deeply human approach to sport, unlikely champions are born, and seemingly improbable team and personal goals are achieved.

LAST FRIDAY DRINKS and BOAT LOADING BARBEQUE

Friday, 27th October is the last Friday of the month – and will also be boat loading day for the Head of the Goulburn participants.

From 6:00pm we will be holding a “boat loading barbeque” – cost $5:00 – for the boat loaders and club members.

Come along and send off the Head of Goulburn participants, and celebrate the last Friday of the month at the club rooms.

PS: Entries for Head of Yarra need to be in by 5 November, so this would be  a good opportunity to firm up a crew if you have not already done so!

PPS: Boat loading for HOG will commence approx. 5:00pm

LEARN TO ROW GRADUATION AND BOAT NAMING DAY

Our current crop of learn-to-row participants are nearing the end of their program, and all members are invited to their graduation day row on Sunday, 29th October, commencing 8:30am!

Come along and meet our graduates, join with them in a celebratory row, and then enjoy a barbeque breakfast after.

The training scull donated by the Everist family will then be named, with representatives of the family in attendance.

GEELONG GRAMMAR SCHOOL ANNUAL HOUSE REGATTA

From Toby Lister, Head of Rowing:

As per the RG calendar, Saturday October 28th is the School’s annual House Regatta.  Rather than book the river and exclude other users we have always tried to run the regatta around/between/through/under or over other crews. We will mainly be on the bottom 1000m with only one race over the full 1500m but please be aware that most races will be 3, 4 or 5 abreast. The first event is at approx. 8.30 am and every 10 mins or so until approx. 11.30am.  Could you please ask your coaches to watch out for races and crews going to the start etc and pull in where necessary. We will have marshals (coaches) stationed along the course and a manned tinny to try to help with traffic flow. Once a race has started we obviously can’t do much about errant steering but we will certainly do our best.

AS THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL REGATTA (NO BUOYS) WE HAVE ALWAYS USED “NORMAL” TRAFFIC RULES i.e. KEEP TO THE RIGHT
